Sabiruddin Mirza, PhD, MS (Pharm) is a biomedical and pharmaceutical scientist with over 15 years of experience in academia and industry, specializing in microfluidics, lab-on-a-chip systems, hydrogel biomaterials, and 3D bioprinting for advanced drug development. He currently serves as a Senior Research Associate at Harvard University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and previously held a long-term faculty position as Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at LECOM School of Pharmacy. Dr. Mirza’s research focuses on human-relevant models for drug product development, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), and toxicokinetic studies, supporting translational biomedical research. He earned his PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Helsinki and completed postdoctoral training at both Harvard University and the University of Helsinki. Throughout his career, he has secured major research funding from organizations including AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly, and the Academy of Finland, authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, and received multiple awards for research and teaching excellence. Dr. Mirza also brings experience in cGMP manufacturing, FDA regulatory compliance, and clinical trial design, along with early industry leadership roles in pharmaceutical manufacturing and international business development.
